This morning was an early start (6 AM) to catch the TGV train to Geneva. We had to take the metro to Paris Lyon, where we bought lunch for on the train, and then caught it to Switzerland. It was a bit slower than the Eurostar and took around 4:30. Otherwise it all went smoothly though. Once in Geneva, we caught the tram to CERN, the end of the line, and were slowly transferred ...

After a 9.5 hour flight to Frankfurt, a long bus ride at the airport to the next plane, and a short 50 minute flight, we are in Geneva. Figured out how to take a bus to the hotel, overpaid, arrived and finally got our room. Slight problem with our reservation - they had us down for 2 people only. Kids will have to sleep outside in the rain ;-) --- Went downtown and joined a festival... Walked around, ate drank, got wet, and enjoyed the fireworks... Everyone is beat... Off to ...

We woke up planning to go to Gruyere and Broc which are places where they make some cheese and chocolate. The rainy weather sidelined those plans until tomorrow though. We decided to drive down to Annecy in the French Alps and then stop by Yvoire. Yvoire is on the French side of Lake Geneva and is a medieval village.

It took us about an hour to get to Annecy, which they call "The small Venice of the ...
