    Very Happy

A nice and simple place to stay. It has everything you need in a Hotel, with none of the stuff you don't really need, but pay a premium for at other places. Highly recommended.

I started off the day in Auckland, visiting my 'adopted grandparents', Joan and Bill (Granny and Granddad). Joan and Bill were Mum and Dads neighbours when they first moved to New Zealand, and became my grandparents-away-from-home. It was great to see them after all this time, and to fill them in on the family and what I have been doing since I …

    Day 80 - Mon. 16th. Feb.
After heading west again yesterday, back the east side of the mountain range, we were now travelling North and west back to Christchurch. On the way we had magnificent views of Mt. Cook on the road to Lake Tekapo, where Caroline decided to get a better look at the mountains by jumping in an 'Air Safari' plane …

Not such a nice day, a cold wind with some showers. We walked around the Newstart mall and had some lunch. A catch up with some sleep in the late afternoon before our 6 o'clock tour meeting and group dinner.

Today we drive to St. Andrews College, one of the most prestigious private schools in the South Island. We will be playing a Christchurch Invitational XI in a fixture which was originally planned to be a One-Day International but the school could not give us sufficient time to have a 50-overs per side match. Instead we will be playing 40 overs each …
