Magnetic Island
Vanuit Cairns beginnen we onze weg naar het zuiden met als eerste stop Townsville, van waaruit we de pont pakken naar Magnetic Island, door de Aussies ook wel "Maggie" genoemd. We slapen in een schattig bungalowparkje met een eigen wildlifereservaat, inclusief koala's. De bungalows staan midden in de natuur. Hier haben wir uns einen freien Parkplatz mit übernachtsungserlaubnis ausgeguckt und das ist auch gut so, da der Highway aufgrund eines Unfalls kurze Zeit später gesperrt ist.
