Vesterbro 2 Ålborg, Jutland, Denmark, DK-9000, 9813-8400
Early start this morning. We are heading west and crossing a bridge to the Island of Funen and onto the town of Odense. Has to be the longest bridge I have ever seen! They have a couple of these between their Islands (Denmark is made up of lots of Islands) and between Denmark and Sweden. Odense is the birthplace of Hans Christian Andersen so I checked out the Museum at his Birthplace. Very Interesting. He ws not only a great writer but a clever paper-cutter and artist. Apparrently he used to ...

Århus, Århus, Denmark eatandplaySilkeborg was a beautiful little city built around it's river. It had walking paths by the river, and in the summer had river cruises. Such a pretty place. One thing that caught our attention was the garages for boats, complete with roller doors and all.
Silkeborg, Jutland, Denmark danandrozAnother viking museum called Moesgard. Fantastic. There was also a forest walk that was replanted in various sections with trees that grew in different time periods of Denmarks history. One section was planted with trees from one particular era, and another section with another era, etc. You'd call it a giant open-air flora museum. It was beautiful, even in winter. There were also things like an iron age house and a stone age barrow and a more recent fishermans house etc.
Arhus, Central Jutland, Denmark danandroz... anymore we went out to the Street, which is just a street where every single building on the street is a bar and we drank. I got back at 6am and we had started at 2pm the day before. I had to admit to Trine the next day that Danes certainly knew how to drink.

Aalborg, Denmark nath_h... if only to keep my belongings dry and to sit on the wet bench with to have our first "on the road" breakfast together. Anyway, after eating and drinking our goodies, we headed to the train station and began to wander if we had really been strict about the amount of luggage we'd taken with us because our backpacks were feeling like they were laden with lead ... we decided there wasn't much more we could've left behind and we'd just have to deal with it and so we finally arrived at ...
Aalborg, Denmark kenanddonna2005... and the hotel was 15 minutes walk away from the town center. There were no amenities around the hotel. We need to find them in town. We unpacked our stuff and walked to town for a look see despite me having a slight fever. We went around the area of Jomfru Ane Gade. Aalborg isn't really a place where one would go to see Denmark. It's a unremarkable town. We had to stopped there just to rest for the night. We returned to the hotel an ...
Odense and Aalborg, Denmark ricochetOnce a week I used to meet with the youth group at Hillerød Library to do book, film, pc-game and music reviews. DR-Radio had heard of us and invited us to Aalborg to do a couple of shows. It was a lot of fun, eventhough the trip home wasn't that nice, because we were stuck in Storebælts Tunnelen, because there was a hurrican over Demark that day, yay. But we got home eventually, about 4 hours late.
