... and I’m reporting you to HostelBookers tomorrow as a fraud! That’s all there is to say, except that you better not charge my credit card, or then I’ll report you to the police! Y puedo hablar espanol tambien.”
It would just be nice if the $100 room were nice, not just four walls and a boob tube. The phrase ‘boob tube’ has meaning here, too. Late-night Spanish TV has sex ads that ...
... days will get some entries soon.
Today, we started from France, and drove a few miles into Andorra. So we have now done 10 of the 11 countires!!
Photos to follow, I'll just go back and put some news on the other days, then get photos loaded up. That takes ages.
WHAT THE BROCHURE SAID: The Col de Port (1249m) is a beautiful climb and has a great descent to Tarascon.
Unfortunately the rest of the days route is on fairly major roads filed with cars heading for
Andorra to do some tax free shopping. Soaking your feet in thermal waters in Ax is highly
recommended, before taking on the seemingly endless Col de Puymorens (1915m).
We are now ...
Annoying new Aussie girls in the room last night ... they showed up around 1 AM, and made a huge racket unpacking and getting ready for bed. The night receptionist even came up, asking them to be quiet because they were disturbing the other sleeping guests in the room, to which they replied "They're not sleeping, they're talking to us!" Uh ... most were either sleeping, or trying to sleep, until you came in ... The funny thing is they were nice enough, but ...
Andorra la Vella, Andorra pwong... We have booked for two nights. This is off season so, for 50E a night we get a four star hotel with pool, sauna & gym right in the middle of town. Great! Today we walked from one end of the town to the other on a very nice stone path elevated above the city with a few farms between us and the chaos. Wandered around the city a bit and are now enjoying a kick back. Plan to go for a swim this afternoon, rest a bit and go on the town later for ...
Andorra la Vella, Andorra marybc... Festa Brava hotel. I seriously considered going snowboarding, but it was just too late in the season and the snow, though plentiful, was just too wet for my tastes. So I wandered about town, dodging the hourly rainfall and taking in the sights. Not too much to be seen here, but nice to look around a place I had no idea even existed!
Andorra la Vella, Andorra trent... a Euro to visit that dive of a country) and had to stand around for about an hour in the middle of the night when crossing to Turkey from Bulgaria (after paying 15 euros for a ****** ****ing visa..most expensive sticker I ever brought). There's not a great deal to say about the ride through Andorra really, the countryside is beautiful- the snow capped Pyrennes mountains spread out in every direction, but that's about the only thing worth noting unless you're really interested ...
Andorra la vella, Andorra englishanddrunk... and start the ascent. At first it's decent climbing but by the end it's a hands and feet job, more like scrambling stuck to the side of the hill. However it was well worth it when we got there as it was getting close to sunset and the views were ace, not a cloud in the sky. Ironically we find a much easier way to descend but I guess the ascent was half the fun. After another chilled evening we awake early and say our goodbyes as Luis goes to work and the ...
Andorra la Vella, Andorra tresgate... washed mountain passes, and one formidable village was fortified by a thick polygonal wall. The French Pyrenees retained all the charm the Andorran towns lack. Nevertheless, it was in Andorra where I began looking for work. On my first Andorran day, I hitchhiked around the country with a short Chilean named Sandra. She was very friendly and talkative to the drivers who gave us rides. She and I talked about everything, as we did a looot of waiting on the day. Like ...
