... with Seb...having grown up here he seemingly knows everyone and takes time to chat, however banally, with everyone and says hello to everyone. When driving his hands are frequently off the wheel, waving or saluting! The local saying is 'poc a poc' slowly slowly' which is so lovely....if something doesn't work straight away, ie my fire lighting efforts yesterday then 'poc a poc' and it works. I've not had a ...

We've just celebrated Easter, with a fast amount of food! Three things seem important here. Gigantic platters of lamb, thick walled pastries and family. I was lucky enough to be invited to join my friend Seb's family. He's the youngest of seven children most of whom were able to join us yesterday and we all squeezed around a big table for fried offal, mixed with artichokes, broad beans and red pepper. ... Slimy mounds of calcite glistened and we admired the landscape of the roof in the plunge pool of water that has been constructed, perhaps for sacred bathing, or for sheep to cool themselves in! We clamoured back to the cafe and hostel, grabbed some well earned beers and stretched out in the sunshine and siestad. As we journeyed down the moon rose and the rock glowed orange behind us. I've joined Mallorca's cycling elite. Sarah's offered me her bike so I glided out, ...

... and freshness. I fell to conversation with another German walker on the bus home, he suggested the coast walk from the lighthouse, looping up to the 221 if you're able to find your way through. Nice thought. I'm really pleased with all the routes I've explored and Tommy, the Scot who cut my hair, couldn't come up with anywhere I'd obviously missed. I'd like to sketch the twisted olives that are being cut back in the valley.....and I do need to get going with the ...
