Lauterbrunen Famous for Europes highest train station...but should be known for worlds most expensive train ride....180CHF!!!! You could go paragliding for that much money if you wanted to. Lauterbrunen doesn't feel like a real place, it's a town, right in the valley surrounded by MASSIVE ALPS! When we were in Chamonix we were surrounded I know, but this is like we are squeezed in, the valley can't be more than 2km wide. The train ride was ...

I had a rather uneventful afternoon just washing clothes and preparing for my train ride tomorrow. Afterwards, ...

A travel blog entry by awithey on Jan 01, 2014

Today was the fifth day of skiing, and we were back at Kleine Scheidegg. We skied with Kat again and we did a trail circuit around the mountain. We skied the Arven run down to the Honegg chair, then to Tschuggen, then Gummi and back to Honegg again and then finished of with three runs of the Arven run. The Tschuggen chair was a T-bar and I had not encountered recently and hence did not know what to expect. Me and mum got onto the T-bar and ...

... place to ourselves. We had a great little patio overlooking the ski lifts and main slopes. The girls were able to walk right out of room to the yard and play in the snow. Not to mention we were able to sit outside enjoying wine and playing cards while they took their afternoon naps.

The girls and myself took ski lessons first thing Saturday morning. This was the first time the girls were on skis ...
