It was truly like stepping back in time with only the tourists and visitors to give away the era we really were in. There were knights walking around holding pottery flasks of beer and wenches following them around pretending to look after them - though here equality of the sexes is such that it was say to see through the farce. True fun to watch and everyone is really in the mood.

... as I could but had to get breaks from time to time to eat a bar or breathe a little. Towards the end I witnessed a marvelous sunset over the river though, but the nightfall worried me a bit, as I was still at least 15k away from my target campsite. I tugged my flashy yellow reflective jacket, installed my front and rear lamps, and as I looked like a Christmas tree, the cars certainly made sure to avoid me every time they ...
