This morning, after some breakfast ice cream we headed south, destination Cagliari. The drive was smooth, scenic, and filled with grazing sheep. I used some leftover points to get us a room at a Holiday Inn close to the airport.
We didn't research Cagliari too much, but it seems like a decent city. The food is alright, the old town is pretty, and the vibe is laid back. ...
... which made what she said easy to understand. She said she had come to Nuoro "for love" - love turns out to be "the cook with the big hat", she said. Ahh, the chef. She asked where we had travelled and obviously knew the winding roads only too well as she pretended to throw up mimicking car sickness. It was a good quality local meal and the night was made even more memorable by the owner.
