Just Japan now, off the beaten track, the best way to see it, with a guided and a small group of 11. Starting with Kyoto, an ancient capital off to beautiful towns offering lovely warm baths, even a fish spa! And the water just flows constantly through.

We had bought a ticket to ...

... volcano and I get on it. It is really windy. I'm a little bit scared envisioning being trapped on a volcanic island with high winds. This I am sure will get me on the front page of the evening post. Rhian is not with me to offer advice so I reckon she would say "run" and pay, turn around and get back on the ferry! I get some strange looks but apart form being thrown into Molten lava there doesn't seem to be much to do. The journey back isn't as exciting but I do get my ...

After arriving in Kagoshima via Shinkansen I managed to get myself lost and wonder round the city aimlessly for about two hours! By the time I got to my hostel it was about 10pm so me and my Swiss friends ended up just sipping beer on the hostel roof and listening to the noise Kagoshima makes at night.

The next day we headed to Sakurajima, which is an active volcano just off the coast ...
