... be a good home base. We got cleaned up and walked to the Thai restaurant/bar on the corner for dinner. We sat outside and had some decent pad thai and left right before the thunder started and, equally conveniently, right before the guys walking table to table enthusiastically selling drugs got to us. Not trying to be discreet at all! Very different here I guess. Everything here so far is good, except the Dutch language. What the hell is that! ...

In the morning we got on a canal tour for about an hour. Walked by the Anne Frank house which had a lineup around the block so took a ************ that one. We walked around the city a bit more, stopped for a beer along side the canal then went to the Heineken brewery tour and checked out the red light district in the day time. We had a beer around Dam Square where earlier we watched a political protest and someone get arrested. We stopped back at the apartment ...
