Our second stop in Austria was Salzburg- we had gone a funny way around by going Munich to Vienna to Salzburg but it makes it a lot easier for us to get the train to Slovenia on Friday and quite a bit cheaper to leave from Salzburg as well. We travelled by train from Vienna to Salzburg in around 3hrs, getting quite used to hauling our bags up onto …

... so no pics will do it justice (I took video though). So instead of a snow pic, I have attached a special photo I took today at the zoo.

Then after that excitement I got the funicular up to the fortress and my battery died after 3 photos so they are not very good but it was worth it to get a video of the Pumas.

Now am hoping for some sun tomorrow which is my last day in Salzburg. I wanna see those magnificent mountains.

I wondered if he looked out at the same street, in its earlier form, as he worked, and imagined him sitting at that piano in endless hours of practice, and mused on his genius as I listened to some of his works on the audio guide. ... Ok, that's not true.

Although no snow, I'm almost as excited about the prospect of seeing some sun tomorrow, as I have not seen one bit of sun since I left Sydney. The last tiny patch of blue sky I saw poking through clouds was in London, but haven't seen the orb since I left home. I'm doing the touristy places tomorrow so hopefully I will have some amazing views ahead of me.

      ... past.

Mozart is everywhere as Salburg is his birthplace. You can buy everything from chocolates amd marzipan to Mozart stress balls and Mozart on a spring.

Salzburg is a really pretty little city no matter when you visit but they do make an extra effort with lights during the Christmasmarket. The main walking street is narrow and each store has a little iron sign that hangs off the building, ...
