... able to find them pretty well using - the only problem was in the forest, my ipod couldn't pick up a GPS satellite, so I had to keep guessing where I actually was - well, that was fun, because Yves' good advice was when you're ready to come home, head downhill and you'll end up back at Wittenbach, so I wasn't worried - nothing like a walk in the forest where you're NOT afraid of getting lost and NEVER getting out!

The forest tracks were SO tidy - ...

... you know the time 24/7 (handy in the wee hours of the morning) firstly the catholic church clock rings, then a few minutes later, the protestant church bells ring - I'm not sure yet who's early and who's late!!

Yves hired a car for us for the weekend, so he drove Jake and I to some places of interest and delight! Saturday, we wandered through Appenzell with lovely little shops on the street for pedestrians only, we had a picnic at the base ...

... Ipad, Ipod, etc. is the way to go. So, of course when I lost my phone I was devastated. For one, it was my main way of communicating with people. Not only that, but I also had a lot of pictures of friends and family, and a GPS! --> when you are in a foreign country this thing is a must! So I literally tried almost everything so I could get it back. Unfortunately no luck, but it was definitely quite an adventure.

I needed to file a police report so I had ...

    ... train station is enormous!

Train arrived - trip was a deja-vu but without luggage this time.

    Hmm, interesting -

We spent a fair amount of time on the trains today but no ticket-guy showed.

Then on this last train the ticket-guy came. This one wanted to see our passports too. First time. All the other times, we had them but were never asked.

The day you get no ticket checkers and finally one shows, he wants the whole works.
