Although we dreamt and planned a lot for this journey, we never thought about the last part.
Waiting between our last two planes, we still have one question:How do you end such an overwhelming adventure before getting back to the real world of bills, plumbing problems and work but also friends, family, weekends and summerbars? I did get some sleep and with the flight only 7.5 hours, the time thankfully seemed to go fast.

Arriving in Athens during a rare rain storm, the weather cleared, and we sat on our balcony at the Hotel Attalos to gaze at the illuminated Acropolis. With the temperatures in the 60s, we returned to our European eating schedule of late and long, eating outside, wandering back to the room sometime after midnight.

... In a trance of complete liberation, I was open to meeting new people during my solo travels, even attracting guys while I was eating dinner like a loner. One guy looked at me and almost admired the way I was eating asking "is it good?" As he walked past. Flattered was an understatement.

And how small this world really is. Minding my own business shopping along Broadway in H&M, I suddenly hear my name announced in slow motion. It took me a minute to register it ...
