    Autumn / Fall in Carinthia

Time flies very fast. Since April I am in Carinthia enjoying the nice weather. But Autumn starts early this time. Farmers making hay for winter. Flowers good-bye. It's getting rainy, foggy, cloudy and colder. On September 1, I woke up and noticed that the mountain Goldeck had a snow ...

This time, we couldn't use the little train (Hoehenbahn - Schmalspurbahn) directly to the restaurant because the heavy rain undermined two weeks ago the tracks. A temporary path was built and plastic planes covered this area (see pictures).

... Lake Millstaetter See is about 12 km long and up to 2 km wide and is situated at an altitude of 588 m. With a depth of 142 m it is not only the deapest but also the warmest of Carinthia's bathing lakes. It invites you to wonderful walls and offers also cultural places of interest on the sunny northern shore in the monastery of Millstatt and the collegiate church.
