    ... village Obertaurn, they can take us but only in the beautiful campground on the lake. Here they have old French circus carriages that have been converted to "luxury glamping accommodation". Once again we get out of the traditional camping and into our true camping style!

    We came in April 15 after a 6 hour drive and showered, ate and then slept. The next couple of days are always spent the same way - unpacking, doing laundry, grocery shopping, all those things we must do just to get to the point where we can relax.     We departed Rome on time at 7.50am and had a pleasant rail trip to Venice Mestre station where we changed to a coach for the trip to Villach. Train got up to 250kph in places and there were lots of tunnels. The Coach was very comfortable and the scenery very interesting as we left the plain behind and headed into the mountains. It took about 3 hours to reach Villach and we did not have to wait long to get picked up by Betttina, our home exchange contact. She drove us ...

    Dam just a short run from base and we passed some amazing waterfalls and arrived with not another person around - not a bad thing to be alone when you are stood on a glass platform at 200m. Back into Gmund for a look around the Porche Museum and town, quick bite to eat with a rather indulgent Iced Coffee.
