    ... I was wrong (as
    Eric later said- if I had been right it wouldn’t have been much of a monument
    to the Swiss who died in the French revolution). It is a huge stone carving in
    the side of a rock. The monument measures around 10 metres wide and six high.
    The Lion looks so sad it is very emotional to look at. The carving itself is
    amazingly detailed and Lucerne was worth stopping at just to see the monument.

    ... which wasn’t too bad! When we got off the bus it was a few degrees cooler than what it was in Lucerne. We got our tickets and started the 45 minute journey to the top of Mt Titlis.     Zürich is a very rich city but the people of Zürich push for the tourist to shop in the new part of the city. The new part of the city is still very nice but very modern as the old part is very traditional. The city is very clean compared to the other cities of Europe we have seen.
