... kept. You get to meet a huge verity of people from all over the world who stay a night or two before moving on in their travels. One person we met on our trip was a young American man who was travelling Europe. After having a couple of beers we had a chat about what Americans think about the British. He also went on to football and how he was going to see Bayern Munich once he arrived in Germany.

... still blowing energetically from the east. Over to the south however, the clouds looked thick and indeed, it was these that we had the 'benefit’ of later. The reason for this is that within a very short period, the wind died completely and then the clouds were seen to be very obviously advancing and by 09:00 it was spitting with rain, rain that never really materialised very much over the morning but it looked like it would return, sometime.

Fur has spent some considerable sums on making their harbour bigger, in fact I would say it was now 100% larger. Moreover, they had done the sensible thing and dispensed with rigid poles, rather they have borrowed an idea from the Swedes and placed a line of buoys some distance from the pontoon, so that one can tie one’s bow or ...

... quite large, at 368 square kilometres and to get to NykÝbing one heads northwards in the Sallingsund with the Salling peninsula to starboard and eventually the coast of Mors to port. There is a large bridge joining the two sides, high enough for us to get under and soon after that, the harbour complex at NykÝbing opens up.
