... not to talk politics and religion. He is quite a progressive and charitable man... However he did make it clear that the windfarms ARE ugly, and they ARE killing the birds, he'd like to see them removed. Tomorrow after breakfast in the great dining room, we'll be driven to see where Tim's Opa lived, then driven back to Amsterdam. ... Anyway, I got back to the campsite and tugged at the bed as hard as a could but it would not budge. So, to get some air I opened the window... And broke the clip so the window wouldn't close. That was that! I clearly was making matters worse, so decided to leave it all and just take some time to chill out. Today Gitta and Paula drove us over the big Afsluitdyke! I've been wanting to see this! We stopped at the monument and took in the views. There is a monument to the man Lely who was behind the dyke being built. The dyke is 7m above average sea level and about 30km long. Quite a lot of people driving and cycling across today. We stopped a bit further along to have our lunch on the dyke. Very nice. Next a drive down through Friesland to ...

The town is beautiful! There are small courtyards full of beautiful flowers. There are hanging baskets of flowers on the lamp posts. It looks like you have walked into a beautiful picture.
