    We've looked back on some trips we've done in the past and thought it would've been nice to spend more than a single evening in one place, so for this trip we planned a day off.

    ... descended another few hundred metres and found a hotel/restaurant, which offered us another chance to get warm. We bought some hot soup - the waitress even offered us dressing gowns to put over our wet clothes to keep warm! They were obviously prepared for nutcases like us!

    The climb to the top from Val D'Isere is about 14 km averaging at a 6% gradient. The weather was good to us, no rain, neither too hot nor cold, so it was a comfortable climb.
