In Münsterplatz we rode the big wheel and got a nice view of the city lights reflecting on the Rhine. After our ride we just hung around a stall selling gluwein, drinking and chatting. Everywhere we went was crowded with people in good spirits and children full of sugar and excitement. Herbstmesse is a fun time in Basel!

In addition I sat in the park for a while and watched the fountain created by Tinguely-Brunnen, it is very neat. It is all sorts of metal sculptures spewing water in various ways and in motion. I really enjoyed my afternoon in Basel, it was a nice laid back relaxing kind of day.
Basel, Basel, Switzerland heathertx75... home (pastries that dad picked up, coffee and so forth), we headed off to spend the rest of Sunday morning having a leisurely brunch in an apartment overlooking the Rhine. The residents - our hosts - were the daughter of a long-time family friend and her boyfriend. Everybody here keeps commenting on how good my Swiss-German is, but I'm not convinced; I'm struggling a little with expressing complex ideas, things I ...
