    ... us that the fireworks were on July 31 and Not August 1. As a result, we did not go to basel for the fireworks.

    But we are going today to stomp around one I our favourite Swiss cities. Let's see how we make out........okay - we arrived in Mannheim to make our connection on the ICE (Inter-City-Express) to Basel. Let's see if this driver can drive 'er over 300kph. I'll be watching.

    ... was looking for squirrels, but none were around. But we did see woodpeckers, which kept her happy. She says she saw a few different types of tits, too, but we wont go there. After walking around we had lunch at the base of the falls. I had the biggest bock wurst sausage in the smallest bun I've ever seen. Looked ridiculous but tasted great.     Another 60km down today, and a well deserved shower and beer were expecting us in Waldshut, on the German side of the Rhine this time. The day had started nicely and slowly by paying a visit to the Roman ruins of Augst.     ... it was shut til 15:00 so we decided to head to the Motor Museum that day - The museum is home to the Schlumpf Collection, which is classed as the most Prestigious Collection in the world and the Largest collection of Bugatti's - in total there are over 400 cars in the collection...there are plenty of pictures and a video of Tom going for a spin or roll in one of the cars...

    We stayed a couple of nights, visited Mulhouse centre but not a great deal to see here...

    ... quietness of the place. After a quick lunch break we crossed the canal and went across the Rhine river as well, only to find ourselves having to cross the German border in order to progress. Sure why not? Except the path became not so bucolic as we went through an industrial zone, all the way to the "3 country bridge", marking the point where Germany, Switzerland and France meet. So we went on it, and boom, there we were back in France. Funny to see ...
