And our meal at Chez David was fab. All four of us had magnificent meals.
We left sadly on Wednesday morning. We won't be back for nine months. It has been such a joy to have friends in this part of France, and the opportunity to speak English! Our first stop was at a small aire in Villeneuve de Marsan. Almost full ( only 7 spaces) when we arrived, so it was good that we were earlyish. Nice spot - all French. Lovely and helpful. Even offered to share the electricity - there were ...

... poignant scene. And then there are others, in all manner of customs and languages who are here for the miracle waters, for personal requests and intentions. Old age, sickness and tragedy has no national borders. Part of the miracle of Lourdes, as A puts it, is the 100,000 volunteers who come each year. A says the 'cure' comes during the reconciliation, at the moment when you are willing to forgive and thus surrender to a larger Faith. I suppose we can work our little miracles wherever we ...
