Whilst the fabric of the hostel isn't the best, the service and general bonhomie from the people running it makes it a special place indeed.

I need to get an early start for Bratislava so go to bed completely worn out.

... to the birthday party upon arrival at the lake last Saturday, and despite the fact that most of the activities were in Hungarian we still had fun. We thought we had a fighting chance at charades, but even that is played differently. Nevertheless, I managed to guess "butter" and Zack got "gypsey" so on some level we were able to participate. Today we left Budapest and drove an hour to Lake Balaton. All the HUngarians flock here because it's the closest thing they have to an ocean and it's the biggest lake in Europe. We had pizza along the lake while listening to the waiters scream at the cooks who war ringing bells every few seconds for them to deliver the food. Big headache.
Then we did one of the worst things in the world for a person ...
