Joel skied again today and Stuart and I walked around the village in the beautiful warm sun. It was still cold though and freezing in the shade. The whole village seamed to be out clearing snow. They were using everything from shovels to huge backhoes, clearing roads, driveways, footpaths, awnings and roofs. We saw Joel as he was having an early lunch. He ...

Another great mix if Japanese and western. My practice was fun and tiring, after every down you have to walk up. I may have improved at walking up. Once you age ...

We walked via under ground passage ways to Tokyo Station, where we exchanged our vouchers for JR rail passes and caught the Shinkansen to Nagano. From Nagano station we caught a local JR train to Myoko Kogen Station and the owner of Mont Cervin Pension picked us up in her van. We arrived at about 2 in the afternoon. It was cold ...

... us but for locals as well. The taxi from the station drives us 15mins more into the mountains and over the hill we approach a quaint little town called nozawa onsen shimotakaigun Nagano. The first person we meet is an Aussie who works the fields on uni break. According to him Nozawa is some what unknown to tourists. A hidden beauty for sure when you look out over the mountains at the trees dusted in snow and occasionally see a skier or ...
