even when you are staring right at them! In photos the alps are pretty but in reality the scale is so grand your eyes can hardly drink it in! On our hike up to the hutte (partially via gondola, of course!) we were
directly opposite the Eiger, Monk and Jungfrau, three amazing snow-capped,
    legendary peaks.

A viewing platform jutted out from the mountain and gave fantastic views of the whole of Interlaken and the two lakes Brienzersee and Thunersee joined by a river (on which our hotel was located) as well as views out to the alpine peaks of Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau.

Switzerland:Starting from Frankfurt on Thursday morning, I embarked on a mini-tour of eastern and central Switzerland. Since Zurich is a hub I ended up there twice. Once between Frankfurt and Chur, then between Chur and Bern. After Bern was my stop for the night in Interlaken. The Alps between Zurich and Chur are splendid! Awesome rock formations and steep peaks make the train ride go by quick, not to mention the lake and rivers. Little towns, villages, and ...
