Sadly a massive fire devastated the castle in the 18th century, so much of it is in ruins.
We continue climbing up very narrow stairway tunnels onto the top of the tower. The views are phenomenal from up here.

We find the Penzion Podzamok, mentioned in the Lonely Planet guide, in the village of Spisske Podhradie, with it's stunning view of the castle rising from the fields behind. At night it is beautifully lit up.

Roznow, a little village located in southern Poland home to Pete's dziadek, ciocia, wujek and the very friendly black lab Kira which happened to be in heat during our visit hence the very friendly. Today we took a little Rafatex bus to Nowy Sacz. The local people mover wound it's way through the colorful hills and tiny villages picking up the occasional passenger along the way. Except for us, everyone appeared to be a senior citizen.
