... again for our Viking compatriots) in order to by-pass Koblenz. We called it quits in a little town of Urlay as we found a very nice and quiet pension on the river. Cochem would have been nice but it was crawling with those damn tourists LOL. The experience was wonderful and the town a delight. We were right in the heart of Mosel wine country and we did our best to sample some of their wares (post driving of course).
This night was cold. I estimate it was between 3 and 5 degrees. What means, that I wear thermals, a down vest and woolen socks. As it gets colder you add a scarf and a beanie and you pull the drawstring to close the hood of the bag.
It's cold outside, but with that set of gear, neither of us was cold, so it still can get a little colder.
In the morning, I usually get out of the tent first (i.e. get kicked out) and start to pack ...

Met DC and the girls at 3pm and Estelle had just joined them, so she took us for hot chocolate near the palace. The coffee shop was across the cobblestone path from the castle, and the Duke drove in a few metres from us as we sitting outside in the balmy autumn weather. Apparently it's not uncommon to see him out and about in town.

... So thankful we had a few hours other time when she was supposed to be on a camp, thank you! We also met Judy-Anne, Mark, and little Oscar (who did so well considering he only speaks luxembourgish). What a fantastic meal, I gave never been so full, the crispy pork shank was definitely worth it! So sad to say goodbye to Carrie and Judy-Anne, maybe one day we will meet ...
... road trip is not a Hightower road trip without something ridiculous happening. We were about an hour down the road and having a great time when out of the blue, my mom realized that we had left our passports in the safe at the hotel. We had no choice but to drive all the way back and pick them up. We had to miss one attraction in Rothenburg, but we all decided it was much more important to make it out of the country ...
