Day 17 in the Smith campervan

The day began like most, showers then breakfast AL fresco, we made pancakes with fruit. As we have no campsites booked from now on we had taken a look at the maps last night and listed some sites in the black forest as we now head slowly back towards Holland. Andrea called the first one and we reserved a place for tonight, at Mullerwise camping at Enzklosterle (also in Cool Camping Europe). ...

... for the locals - which is evident at this restaurant. Pretty cool tradition for locals to drop by and they always have a table to share. The food here is unbelievable it is so good. What a night! I managed to get quite a few grand photos on my wandering around the Markplatz and many side streets while I was in Gengenbach, especially on Sunday. My favourite lane for picture taking was Angel Lane or Engelgasse. What a wonderful vibe in this ...

Not only that, the platz is immaculately cleaned up when you see the square the next morning. Kind of like magic. ... and ended up stuck in Wiesbaden, one way streets. While lost we stopped for the first diesel fill since leaving home. Diesel works out at 80 pence per litre here, so it cost less than 50 pounds to fill the tank, it's more like 80 at home.

Today was a longer drive so we joined the Autobahn, the fast lane really is fast, we would see sports cars and large Mercedes flying past, they must of been doing 120mph if not more. ...

We headed off around ten, all set for another longer drive to Baden Baden.

I had done some research and decided after good reviews to visit this Black Forest Spa town. It also put us in a good position for going back into France as it is directly in line with the Champagne region and Paris, and only an hours drive from Strassbourg in France, another quaint town that sounds like it is well worth a visit.
