As many European towns, Luxembourg is much more hospitable during late spring and summer. autumn winter can be very rainy and misty. Shops usually close at 6pm. Offers (clothing, jewellry but also food) have the tendency to be upmarket.

There are 3 distinct areas:-

1. Luxembourg City which is old money and the oldest part of the City with its lovely preserved buildings. This must be the only place we did not visit a Cathedral or church as there was not enough time! The Hotel de Ville was nothing impressive for a change ...
