Oh ! Qu'un jour ! Le tour de train était bel et j'ai eu une vue parfaite du campagne. Je l'ai fait enfin ici dans le temps pour vérifier dans mon hôtel, <<Maison du Prussien-->> Le c'est une vieille brasserie qui est seulement dix minutes à la ville en voiture. Parce que le c'est un tel bel et historique site, j'ai dépensé l'heure de lumière j'étais parti explorer la raison. J'explorerai la ville demain.

... intervened and two young girls traveling together asked me to switch to an aisle. Yay! I found my colleague no problem and here we are. The countryside here is lovely. The water, Lake Zurich, is gorgeous and it's very quaint. We saw a number of small towns and saw people on boats fishing, rowing and even saw a few people swimming. It's warmer here than I expected, about 85 ...

... a look around. Evidence of lots of decoration and history. Some wonderful herds of cows too! In a region famous for its dairy products this countryside was just about 'right' !
On approaching Rapperswil the train negotiated a crossing of the Waddenzee which then brought us onto the main line from Zurich towards Chur beside the Wallenzee. Another charming lakeside journey.

... of having cheese as part of at least 2 meals a day. We then followed the self guided walking tour, backwards, which made the rose gardens our first stop. Fine, exept they were at the top of a huge hill and the temperature was pushing 30. Not a winning combo, but we made it and the views across the city were brilliant. 22.7.06 Bern Switzerland with Daniel and Evelyn We were fortunate we could follow Esther into Bern and meet Esther's brother Daniel and partner Evelyn who took us for a walking tour of Bern, the Swiss capital.
