... Argentinians certainly know how to build big monuments!) It was built to commemorate the first raising of the Argentinian Flag in 1812 (on a nearby island in the river). The monument covers an area of 10,000 square metres with a 70 metre high tower and a perpetual flame.

Our next stop (after another overnight bus) is Resistencia, from where we will head towards Misiones Province in the North East of Argentina.

... it probably even worse than gin. With a splash of coke it's drinkable but not by much. The next was cold red wine with soda water served in a litre glass. They told me my Spanish was improving rapidly as I got more drunk so apparently all I need to do to speak better Spanish than I do now is have a few glasses of vino. ... fireworks and protesting against the government and the police. Nobody had mentioned that there was an organised protest that night so we were a little weary of the situation. ... the movies and all she could hear in the background was moaning and screaming! Needless to say, we continued our search for a more traditional movie theatre.

My adventures in Cordoba ended with a night bus to Salta. I got some great travel tips for the rest of my trip which I am excited about. Unfortunately I am on a tight schedule now because of my flight to South East Asia, but I am hoping to get to see lots in the little time that I have.
