... between me and him weren't prepared either...I think I broke them.  After a wonderful reunion hug, we made our way to the car, and this is where you can clearly tell I'm not European.  I went straight for the left side of the car.  But no, unless I was going to drive, I needed to move.  The terribly funny antics of Kai and Lisa had already started and they didn't stop.  We drove to the very top of the multistory carpark to get out. ... towel' (you can see it on one of the pictures below - kind of a turquoise ball). This towel dries really quickly and can be folded together to the size of a fist. Given it's dimensions of 120cm x 65cm that is quite impressive. However, at €22 the towel wasn't one of my bargains :)

Today we left Bielefeld to explore the nearby area of Solingen, on the way we drove through continual snow fall which was quite a novelty for a family from North Queensland and we were  continually commenting on how beautiful everything looked when white.  We stayed in Solingen for two nights at the local IPA House which was built in the 1600s and the kids ...

I had a really good sleep and felt refreshed after the rather tiring first day. I had a shower (hotel showers are just amazing) then went down for breakfast, there was a great selection of food that was a help yourself buffet ranging from a full cooked breakfast to a lighter continental choice or both if you were very hungry, I opted for a cooked breakfast, very similar to a full English but the bacon was cut really thinly, almost see through, the sausages were small ...
