I bought a new computer this week. But to be more specific I bought an ALDI computer. Now I know what you're thinking, but there was a good reason for it. I'd been researching new computers since Christmas because our old one died and I didn't want to be typing essays on a laptop with an Australian QWERTY Keyboard on a tiny screen for the next three years.
Germans have a different Keyboard because they have a few different characters ...

My mum, a friend of her and I took a day tour to visit the Christmas markets in Heidelberg and to hopefully have nice weather for some pictures.
I remember that I visited Heidelberg some years ago in summer and that I did not like it as it was so full of tourists.
It is funny how sometimes when you think of a place you are full of joy and sometimes you just do not like a place at all.
I guess Heidelberg is a mixture.
I wanted to make the most of my new semester ticket, which just cost me 150 Euros, so I took the tram to Mannheim to take some photos. Under the conditions of the ticket, I am allowed to travel anywhere in the Rhein-Neckar Area, which is pretty expansive and includes not just Mannheim and Heidelberg, but also all the way east to Wurzburg. It will come in handy for sure.
I got off at the Collini ...
... and as per usual the street was lined with stalls for food, beverages and entertainment. We got lucky with the weather and I was able to take a few nice photos out and about with my 40mm pancake lens. It really makes you think about what you can take a photo of because it has a fixed focal length. But its a really compact combo and its lighter than carrying around a zoom lens.
I still take around half the shots with my compact camera as well! See if you can tell the difference.
