... one day that my GPS was activated on the map that I had preloaded when I had Wifi. This has been hit and miss since - but loading what you need in a Wifi zone should do the trick. I was planning to get a SIM card over here for my old phone, but if I can hit so many Wifi zones I can have access otherwise. It has been easy to do that. One of our stops was Hellbrun Palace, and had a wee look at the grounds and the gazebo from the Sound of Music. ... were Hitler's escapes routes if attacked. We had to get in special buses to go up the steep incline, through several thick metal gates and several tunnels. Almost at the top you walked through another tunnel into a chamber that housed a 404' internal elevator up to the Eagles Nest (that is some security system). The SS barracks were along the route in a field, but they were destroyed in the WW II bombing. The view at the top was so amazing. We hiked the most amazing ...

... ha!  I have a window seat on this train which makes for an excellent view of the southern German countryside :-)  I’m sitting next to the cutest little old lady (and her husband), she doesn’t speak a word of English and I’m pretty sure she thinks I understand her German, lol. Words that spoke to me today: “This world ain’t fair, it can knock you on your butt, well you can just lie there, or ...
