... so to pick up tickets, then make our way to the Katowice train station. What is with us and being late for trains? After a lot of running and dropping things from our backpacks, we eventually made it well before the train.

We switched trains at Wroclaw station. It was the first time i'd been to a Maccas where nobody spoke english. I felt very vulnerable, but thankfully Anita was fluent in Polish. After a day long train ride, and a touch of ...
Kamienna Góra, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, Poland andrew.campbell... Mountains is part of the larger Sudetes range. Its highest peak is Sniezka which stands on the border between the Poland and Czech Republic - at a height of 1602 meters above sea level. The mountains are wonderful for trekking and ski. Large areas of the mountains are preserved as National Park.

To see photos from Jelenia Gora and Mountains please click here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v =7KSPFn6p9Y0
Jelenia Gora, Western Poland, Poland ulka... people fought and protected there territory and now its all open.

Our last day in Czech was a drive towards the Krkonose mountains, we wanted to maybe catch a chair lift and walk some of the peaks in the area but the hot weather had finally turned into massive thunderstorms. That seemed to sum up our outdoor plans since we have been on the road, so we stocked up with Czech beer one last time and took the wet route into Poland, now there was no turning back.
Liberec, Bohemia, Czech Republic pihollandal the former eastern bloc countries make for good travel,, but the one that i return to is the czech republic,, mainly to the north [north bohemia],liberec, harrochov, cesky raj, but a trip or two to moravia is also worth taking,,. during the communist times it was an eye opener, now also as the people wish for the return of those times, they knew where their bread was coming from, and the upgrades fron old skoda to super fast motorcars,, ah they stilll are crazy on the roads
Liberec, Bohemia, Czech Republic jefa... takze sme vybrali nase jesenne vertovky, ktore s nami precestovali pol sveta za posledny tyzden a mohli sme objavovat mesto pred nami. Liberec ma krasny architekturu z cias ked to bolo druhe najvyznamnejsie mesto v Cechach. Jeho odevnicky a tkacsky priemysel je preslaveny v celom byvalom Ceskoslovensku.
Liberec, Bohemia, Czech Republic moziIn a remote corner of northeastern Czech Republic lies an incredible collection of sandstone spires. So we changed gears and spent the day exploring the nooks of crannies of Teplice and Ardspach Skaly. I'm not sure if several hours of hiking counts as a "rest day", but it was absolutely worthwhile and we are so glad that we made the effort to come check this area out. Now, we DID have an actual rest day a couple days ago with our ...
Teplice, Bohemia, Czech Republic steffeff... that most of people travel to Poland through Germany, which was pointless for us. Therefore we took another bus to H... something, and from there we hitchhiked twice to Szklarska Poreba. Finally at home! Well, almost. Afterwards we took a Polish coach to Jelenia Gora and from there we had a journey straight towards home - to Wroclaw and Opole. We wanted to spend the upcoming night in our own beds, that`s why the last ...
Szklarska Poreba, Western Poland, Poland bogna... was a short 2km hike up the side of the road to a chairlift which was to carry us 528m up the range to Mt Kopa (1375m). It wouldn't have been difficult to hike all the way up, but with only a couple of hours we decided to make the most of our time higher up. There was a lot of snow at the top, and despite the threat of the clouds gathering above us we decided to press on to the summit of Mt Sniezka, which looked a lot more imposing from closer up. The trail ran alongside the Czech border ...
Karpacz, Western Poland, Poland will... no one home I presume. Tomorrow we are going to visit the town as its apparently a great example of Czech centres so we will see. 10/10/07 Day 72 Rob - washing day today, but the German woman wont relinquish control of the dryer so Jenn is fuming, staring out of the window and scowling). (JENN- in my defence we are totally out of clothes, Rob has no knickers (day 2 for today's garments) and is down to his last shirt so its make or break time. Rob is ...
Trutnov, Czech Republic rob.jenn... wasn't as enjoyable, but we wanted to reach the top. There were so many people, and the view wasn't nearly as nice as from lower down. The path wound along the edge of the mountain, with a low wall about a foot high to stop us from falling off the edge. The wall had already crumbled away in several places, but the path was pretty wide. The upper parts of the mountain were completely covered in loose rocks, it was amazing that no one caused a major avalanche. In fact, there were signs ...
