We had a lazy day in Ruggell, we all suffered a little jet lag so we just chilled a bit around the home. For dinner that night we were taken into Austria to a place called Feldkirch. We had to take our passports in case we were stopped at the border crossing. We went to a Castle in the town built over 300 years ago. The children were amazed and surprised on how cold it was. Having spent a week on my mountain, it was time to do some longer and steeper walks again so it was back to Oberstdorf but this time avoiding waterfalls! Day 1 was spent on a flatter walk and on day 2 the only way was up! Although due to time constraints we came down by cable car which confused Lizzie! Surprisingly little ...

    1740. Goodbye Austria

... highlands of Nauders, my final town here in Austria. It's kind of a surreal feel, after hours of nearly impenetrable cliffs and fierce river gorges--thinking I'd left all land suitable for human life behind--to find a peaceful idyllic landscape high up on the mountains--a Shangri-La of sorts.
