... host and the LP. It was probably the prettiest of all of the cellars, inside was like a temple or cathedral to wine in the dark cool caves, and their wine was definitely one of the better qualities, but the rude lady serving with zero idea of customer service turned us off a bit. We preferred sitting on the outside balconies of some of the lesser known and cheaper cellars like Kiss Pincészet. Headed South into Hungary, on the back roads, the rain has stopped, the roads are good and with very little traffic I've had a fun day. Bimbled along at around 60 mph just taking in the sites. Temperature in the high 20's so all good. Managed to get 390 miles out of a tank so I must be taking is slow!!

... I swiped a parking bus, losing the side-view mirror in the process. Leaving me with 4 weeks of dodging the local authorities as we endeavour to complete our holiday without replacing it. Our day started with a tour through the neighbouring town of Eger. There were so many charming twisty little streets full of nicely restored historical buildings, a medieval castle on the hilltop and lots of restaurants, cafés and souvenir shops. The castle was were, against all odds, the Egerites famously and successfully defended the town from the invading Turks in 1552. ... the cellars we saw the presses and barrels, some continuing as much as 11,000 litres of wine. Shame if one broke open and we had to rescue the wine..... I did notice one that was a bit bowed, perhaps it's getting ready to pop? We saw several cubbies in the stone walls where thousands of bottles were stored to age.
