... finding our Airbnb. After some searching, we sent a message to Klara, our host, and she came right out to find us. She showed us the apartment speaking only Hungarian, no English. The place was so nice and so was she! We researched and located "The Valley of the Beautiful Women," a horseshoe-shaped cluster of wineries, on our phones, and decided to take the 20 minute walk there. The road ended and turned into a slender, rocky trail path, but we kept going until it ...

... actually had a nice patio next to a stream and surrounded by trees, so we could mostly ignore the traffic. It was another good meal, though the boys were bored before it was over and were hanging from the patio railing, whining about not being allowed to climb down to the stream. ... section. We tried several Slovakian inspired dishes, and watched the rain that started soon after we were seated from the comfort of the restaurant. We had a long enough pause in the rain to get back to our cars, where we headed back to town for a quick stop at the grocery store (stores will be close for Sunday as usual, but also for Monday since that is a holiday), and then everyone went home for a quite evening.

    Definitely a good first day.

We arrived in Eger last night about 1700 and checked into our hotel and once again we have a most exquisite room. We are in a separate complex and are the only ones there. We have a separate sitting room, a king bed even a walk in closet. It is beautifully furnished, quiet and comfy! We went for a stroll around the beautiful town before dinner. The dinner tonight was served family style with goulash soup, goose liver, meat platter, and desert of strudel and a small almond ...
