Managed to get away fairly early but with not too much of an idea of our itinerary for the day except that we wanted to take a tour of a 'Secret Soviet Bunker' near the town of Ligatne only 35 km away.

... Now Olle comes from the same town as Harry and Siw and he was amazed to learn that they were in the vicinity. I promised to forward his mobile number next time I was on line so that they could text each other. I also chatted to the owners of ‘Summertime’ , a German couple whose names I don’t have but who we will doubtless see again as they are from Fehmarn and are due back roughly the same time as us. ... of us were impressed with the starters ( white fish tartare (Julie) caesar smoked salmon salad (me) ) – Julie had baby white trout and I had duck and we both had crème brulee with rosemary & peach sauce.
