A traditional Japanese breakfast was being served in the dining hall 7:00-8:30 am. Me being a punctual person, I got there at 8:17 am. Then I had to catch the 8:30 am shuttle bus to Gero Station. In the picture going clockwise from the top was yogurt, soup, really good apple juice, rice, salad, tofu, a soft boiled egg, salmon and tea. The salmon and soup were cooked/heated by fire. ... t complain of any chill even though the nights in Japan can be burrrrrrrry cold.

We were sad to leave Gifu prefecture, it was definitely one of our favorite places in Japan thus far and our zany host Nanako is like the goofy aunt that everyone loves. Hopefully goodbye is not forever and we will have a chance to stop by again someday, but until then we have much more of Japan to see...onward and forward and henceforth we go!
