    A traditional Japanese breakfast was being served in the dining hall 7:00-8:30 am. Me being a punctual person, I got there at 8:17 am. Then I had to catch the 8:30 am shuttle bus to Gero Station. In the picture going clockwise from the top was yogurt, soup, really good apple juice, rice, salad, tofu, a soft boiled egg, salmon and tea. The salmon and soup were cooked/heated by fire.     I had a terrible sleep. Maybe three or four hours total. I was all sticky, because it was hot out last night. I wasn't in the right midset to sleep when I got home.     After moving on every couple of days, we decided to enjoy 5 nights in one spot. Takayama was a lovely little town with the river running through it and shrines galore amongst the cedar trees. The town is renowned for its carpentry and its Hida beef. Both are excellent!! The beef is usually cut very thinly so it melts in your mouth. ...

    ... and I have already explained the basic procedure involved in construction...basically a lot of hard manual labor hehe. It was fun to see the project so close to completion, having arrived when it was only halfway built. The wwoofers we met and worked with here pitched in and lightened the load immensely, teamwork can be a pretty great thing.
