    After moving on every couple of days, we decided to enjoy 5 nights in one spot. Takayama was a lovely little town with the river running through it and shrines galore amongst the cedar trees. The town is renowned for its carpentry and its Hida beef. Both are excellent!! The beef is usually cut very thinly so it melts in your mouth. ...

    ... had been planning her teepee project for a while and with plenty of research and our dedication we managed to build a pretty decent one. The material was a water and fire proof cloth that she machine sewed to the correct size and dimensions.     ... so nice, quiet, and calm here. The city is in the country side, which makes it all the more appealing to me!
    I have noticed that people here a lot more quieter and polite... and I feel like a loud mouth baboon talking and walking down the street!

    ... for me at least totally enjoyable and a learning experience to boot. There are a ton of pictures to go with as well as a few of Nanako's beautiful flower garden and idyllic potting shed.
