A day of cold and hot

Stranded in St Moritz 11-11-12
A few days ago people were winding me up that I only managed to ride my bike a few miles from Interlaken to Grindlewald which can't be more than 30 miles or so. Well if that was a poor show then what they going to say about today when my bike never even moved off its stand!!!

Sunshine and snow in the Alps
... up here I can see the road and railway over the pass I travelled yesterday. I watched a train winding its way down the pass at extremely slow pace. It looked like a tiny snake in the grass from up here. Looking across the mountains towards the east where I was going to be heading next did not look promising at all. There were masses of grey clouds above the pass area and it looked like it was snowing heavily.

What a journey
... no English but another lady helped out. Stayed zermez then off to pontresina to catch the bernina express railway line. Ok know we have seen wonderful parts but this is even better. Got off train at ski ing area, cable car...gondola.. With all the snowboarders,skiers as season opened 20oct to diavolezza bernina 3000m. Wind howled up there through the alps, saw another glacier, nick lost his cashmere lined gloved in the wind but then picked up someone's else's flying ...
Back to Stelvio pass we wind
... 8217;s and our entries while I had my nose in my new book – A diary of a young girl, Anne Frank – I bought it the other day at Dachau. We were also able to finally get ahold of Rhys’ parents for a chat, which was nice.
By the time it was 5.00pm I encouraged Rhys to come for another walk as we had spent all day inside and I needed to get out. Even with the rain clouds around Prato Allo Stelvio is a beautiful place.
