I spent one of my last weekends in Germany visiting my Aunt Mary, Cousin Raquel, and Uncle Joerg at the Chiemsee in Bavaria Germany. Forest thaw
... was overcast, as predicted by the weather forecast. It certainly wasn't cold and the final few kilometers along the lake to the south of Achensee turned into a gentle stroll. A welcome beer in a village cafe and ice cream for the weak-willed. Back to the hotel after a 7-8 miles' walk and a welcome afternoon snooze. Nordic Walking
... by and large. We did see new village features that we would probably have missed, including the main village ski lift and winter sports area. Snow machines have been used to consolidate the pistes, but the predicted thaw could make that futile. Back to the hotel for a welcome sandwich lunch, Saga-style nap or steamy binocular work in the sauna.
Aunty Helen's roast chicken for supper. She chose two pert-bottomed fowls for our delectation!

Uplifting
... truth of the naked stories. Modesty prevents me from describing the shapes, sizes and girths of the limbs and appendages, and in any case, having removed my glasses, I couldn't corroborate anything in particular. But I could imagine through the steamy vapour. I did spot a tattoo in what I thought was a strange place. Tattooists must live an interesting life.

Walking in a winter wonderland
... café, more cake and a decent latté (for once), and then a stroll round the supermarket looking for ingredients for tonight's supper (excitingly, spag bog) and replenishment of the red wine stocks. Lunch back in our hotel room, and Helen and Steph shot out for another sauna, steam and shower. Never seen either of 'em move so fast. Never knew men's bottoms (front or back) were so important! S'pose Barry and I will have to play Cribbage ...
