    ... pretty darn cold and also looked strangely similar to the Outer Banks in NC.     We are still docked on the Moselle in Bernkastel, Germany. But our tour bus is driving up to Trier, in the same direction as Luxembourg. Trier is supposed to be the oldest German city. It dates back to the year Christ was born. We see the Roman bridge which dates back to 44 AD. Evidently the Romans wanted to have the same comforts here in Trier as in Rome.     ... 23km long, was constructed below, all within the cliffs here. It was used for accommodation for soldiers as well as a refuge and hiding spot. During WW2, 35,000 people sheltered here, for protection from anticipated bombing. It was a heap of fun exploring these caves and a free workout to go with it.
