Arrived Wednesday evening and was pleasantly surprised by Luxembourg; the city and the country. The city is founded on an old fortification. You can see some remaining walls and some newly renovated walls around the city. It's a good mix of old and new. Lots of banks and money and it also houses the European Commission so lots of offices. ... and certainly the most impressive, perched high on the rocks above the River Our. We looked up at it from the road and down on it from the chairlift ride we took, we also saw it, illuminated and impressive at night from our campsite besides the Our, but we ever actually made it to the castle gates – rained off again as we climbed the meandering path through town!
