Today the wind blew and blew, fortunately it was behind us. We flew through the first 10km until a slight misjudgement meant we had to retrace 100m, the wind was so strong it nearly took us 5 minutes to do so.

We stopped for a hot choc and brownie around 12am at Lauwersoog, tactically dodging a rainstorm and giving us time to look over the long route that lay ahead. Today was ...

... and I retreated to the apartment where we showed them our 'party' photos. Soon we were ready for sleep. It was not such a peaceful night in the tent as the wind and rain continued throughout the night.

... with playground, restaurant and snack bar. Perfect for having a stroll after dinner and an ice cream! Indoor heated swimming pool as well. We were fortunate to find a caravan servicing centre not far, who were able to fix the caravan fridge ( it just needed a new element) after the very helpful reception people phoned around for us. Stayed on the outskirts of a large campsite with lots of Germans on their way into The Netherlands. On the second day caught the train into Groningen which is the capital of the region and I think the main city in northern Netherlands.
