We're heading to Aosta in the Italian Alps for 10 days then a couple of weeks in Val Ferret, Switzerland then loafing somewhere else in the mountains til the end of July. We woke early in Zermatt to check out, take in one last look around the beautiful little town and jump about the famous Glacier Express train along UNESCO heritage railways to our final destination of St Moritz. Along the way there was endless picturesque scenery from snow capped mountains to summer green fields and typically Swiss towns all along the route. Sleep in to 7-7.30 am. And clear blue skies. Bonus. Actually St Moritz has 326 days of sunshine a year & this is one of those days. After breakfast a leisurely stroll around the lake & street with a morning tea stop at the canoe club. Sun shinning but clouds appearing more now but sitting in sunshine sipping coffee with a view of the snow capped peaks is really hard to take. Ha!!! We left at 1200 ...

Today we planned to catch a local bus to a small alpine village that was somewhere high above us unfortunately we awoke in low dense cloud and mountains quite obscured and so a restful day instead. I think my body is starting to voice a need for stillness and rest. ... which once you realise is no more expensive than anywhere else but provided wonderful cuisine is the place to wile away a few hours.

And so so yes we enjoyed Vaduz but as Emma said to Rob this morning probably best for a lunch stop en route to somewhere unless you are the sort of traveller who can actually enjoy stillness and rest in a beautiful location.
