... hadn't seen this part of my family for 8.5 years! Their house is amazing too- and the view of the train and the mountains- wow! We had an amazing dinner of parmigiano aubergine made by Ilaria and then tried all sorts of cheeses and looked at photos from when they were last in NZ when I was 11 months old! Such lovely photos. Friday morning after a beautiful breakfast, Dario (my Great Uncle), picked us up and took us back to his house ...

... finally be able to enjoy some traveller amenities like... a internet? discount supermarket? maybe even a hostel? I pick up the pace as those twin high rises get closer and closer. Finally I find myself in a construction zone, with a full size shopping mall on the other side. It takes me a while to finally get over there, and when I do, I change my mind and decide to look for something cheaper. It's a gamble--and tomorrow is Sunday, so ...

      1702. Landslide Village

... and scree came tumbling down the moutainside at some point, and it looks like more could come at any time. So I cross the river once again, and pose for my videoclip with the village and the cliff in the background, then go for a closer look. Well... it's not as bad as it seems. The cliff is a little ways back, so it's doubful that, even if another landslide came it would do direct damage to the village. Still looks pretty weird ...
