... the village where my grandmother and her family are from. It's beautiful! I haven't been here for 8.5 years, but it's pretty much all as I remember it :) Dario and his wife Claudia don't speak any English and we spent the whole day with them so I got to practice a lot of Italian and do a lot of translating for Lee! Dario took us for a tour of Poschiavo when we arrived and showed us everything- including an inside look to the ...

... seeing almost within arms reach.
Actually, it seems to be working! My feet are a bit numb--but all the important stuff is staying dry. I've done it! I've become an all-weather hiker. And I'm not alone. Apparently the Swiss don't let the weather keep them indoor either, and some of them are out walking, jogging or cycling.
Finally the rain stops, and I can switch to more conventional attire--just in time so I'll be able to do ...

... rarity in Switzerland, with plaques dedicated to four wars that I've never heard of... Old Chur is pressed right up against the wooded mountains, with a castle and cathedral right next to the mountain, to top off my charming evening. Only one thing I'm missing: an internet cafe so I can upload and safeguard my pictures. I ask around, but no luck. Finally someone points me to a bar where, yes, there is a computer that you can feed coins ...
