... We left Chinon in the morning and headed over to Amboise. We visited the Azay-Le-Rideau chateau. It had a lot more period furniture in it than the last one. It was set on a nice reflecting pond. Then we did a load of laundry. We stopped at a laundrymat that the Rick Steves book had mentioned, only to find it closed down. Luckily, the TI was just down ...

We dines next door at the restaurant owned by the hotel ...

Today was our final day of riding - a circular ride through the vineyards of Crissay-sue-Manse and back to Chinon. It was another hot night and an early morning start. The breakfast routine which had developed over the week involved Anne, Clive and myself meeting up coincidentally around 7am and then Sigrid joining us not long after. The others then wandered in at various times after. While getting our bikes set up and assembling as a ...

... many cyclists that visit the area. Although our chateaux for the day was the Abbey of Fontevraud, only one of the team visited it. We all decided to lunch before exploring the village spare of abbey and ran out of time. Lunch was a traditional cuisine of the area - fouee - similar to a pita bread which was served with a plate of salds and meat to stuff into the fouee pocket and enjoy. Included in the meal deal was ...
