      ... and was met by a monkey sat at my head height it gave me a bit of a scare! I didn't really realise quite how free to roam about they would be! The main attraction of the park is the onsen(hot water caused by volcanic activity) which the snow monkeys use to keep themselves warm during the harsh winters in Northern Japan.       ... photos without anyone else being there. The main sanctum was divided into the inner and the outer. The inner sanctum had tatami mats, which meant that you had to take your shoes off first. Since it closed at 4.30pm and we only had 15 minutes left, it wasn't worth going in. We could walk around the outer sanctum till about 6.30pm.

      ... walk through the winter walk where workers have to walk for 20km for 6 hours. There was a monkey sitting on the top of the stairs so it became a choice of whether we wanted a photo of the monkey or that of a train going over the red bridge. In the end, the train on the bridge won out.

      ... a lot more. We stopped by a museum by the train station and just walked around the streets of Unazuki Onsen. Had a late lunch of sandwiches at the Mozart Cafe. There were no photos of the food except for the cakes. The others at the cafe said to order the sandwiches, so we did.       ... Robert was almost decapitated by the train doors on the way up. He thought that the train would stop for a few minutes and stuck his head out. The doors closed suddenly and luckily for him, his reflexes were slightly quicker than his wit. We couldn't help but laugh.
