    My trip to the Hakone mountain region started with my first ride with the famous Shinkansen train, I was excited like a little boy :-))).     Me and 5 of my colleagues, all from different departments, decided to do the classic and most popular version of the climb: follow the 'Yoshida' trail, take a short sleep in a mountain hut at 3100 meters altitude and continue our hike at night to reach the summit in time for sunrise. Half of us were experienced hikers, one was not but was well prepared and the other two... looked more or less as if they were about to go to office. Hmm... ...

    Typhoon Nangka has made our Mount Fuji climb uncertain for the last few days. We were staying in Fujikawaguchiko (best name so far?) at the foot of the volcano, which is still active btw and hard hats have recently been brought in as they're expecting things to happen!
