... that is utterly pervasive. It's actually become something of a game - to try and find the one piece of garbage that someone forgot to pick up. Even out here in the countryside, groundskeepers and old ladies minding their storefronts and even off-duty tour guides - all routinely, perpetually seem to be picking up and maintaining the cleanliness of even the busiest tourist areas.

Hello readers, The last few days we have covered a lot of ground! On Thursday we said goodbye to Tokyo and made our way to Hakone on what should have been a quick and efficient journey. However, with our lack of Japanese and hangover from our mad1 the night before we found ourselves missing stops, being on completely the wrong platform and doubling our journey time to an impressive 4 hours. When we finally reached our hotel nestled in the mountainous Hakone resort, ...

... traffic into Tokyo. The journey which took us 2 hours out ended up taking us 5 hours back. There was a consolation though, as this meant we encountered people coming into the station from Shinjuku bars. If you would like to see what obnoxious drunk Japanese people look like (there are far fewer drunks than there are in England it should be noted), please direct yourself to Gabe`s facebook profile for the relevant video.
We again owe our wonderful host Coco a thank you for ...
