Day 50 - Rudesheim
... very good was a museum of mechanical music machines. They had many, many exhibits ranging from gramophones, carousel organs and up to very large devices which created the music of an orchestra – each individual instrument being played inside the machine. The tour included the playing of many of these. The favourite one was a tall pianola-like device that had a paper roll but played the tune on six or eight real violins. I woke up just before 7am. I'm feeling better,
the mountain air must be good. But im still coughing, not much but
just a bit. I dressed, packed up my bags then went to breakfast.
After breakfast I took my bags to the coach, claimed my seat and then
helped others with their bags and helped load the bus. Once everyone
was on the coach, we left, had our day song and the standard talk.

Ernst to Koblenz
... were on a major highway, B49, with zero shoulders to bike on...just barrel along as fast as you can go and pray all the cars give way...and I must say the German drivers are splendid in this regard. Nevertheless, for me it was white knuckle time and I am glad to have made my destination unscathed. All's well that ends well.
