... and you get into an accident on the road, your insurance won't cover you. If you hit someone and you have the wrong tyres on in Winter, apparently you can be charged with manslaughter! Ouch! You also can't get a driving licence unless your vehicle is insured first. Australia probably needs to be doing this.

... at the idea of going in naked. In Austria, being naked or having men and women mixed was not a big deal, as I had seen earlier by the lack of segregated change rooms. And I had noticed that young people were less self conscious about their bodies. Overweight girls were in bikinis here and didn't seem to care or feel threatened by skinny girls in bikinis. Nobody cared. Even I can't go out in a bikini, and these girls are doing it haha.

... s winter just like I'm used to, it just looks a little bit different. Along the Mur River it was quite humid so my afro reared its ugly head (pun intended), but the ice made for a view that was quite unique. Today was the day. After 2 years of planning it was finally time to head to the airport and say goodbye to my home for about 6 months. Not really sure what I felt making my way to YYC airport, but it was definitely a healthy mix of nerves, "holy sh*t" and "wow, I'm finally on my own."
