... quick run in before even buying a lift ticket. Good thing because the place was packed. The boys were ready to go, so I was sent to find my way through the lines for the two lifts to get tickets, while Laura worked her way through the line in the rental / ski shop area to buy a pair of replacement sunglasses (did finally find her broken set of glasses in my coat pocket at the end of the day).

We then rejoined the boys and got in the first of many ...

... little too cocky, a problem that was quickly remedied. I don't know what it was - different snow, different board, steeper slopes, rude Austrian skiers whipping by within inches of me - but I couldn't turn worth a darn and went down hard many times on that first run. Austria is blessed with a lot of natural beauty (think Sound of Music). The grass is inexplicably green and little cabins with smoking chimneys dot the hillsides. At one point I asked Dom to stop the ...

... all the shops were only open until midday, so we found everybody a bit stressed and little aggro, so we took off to take in the wonderful sight of the largest wooden tower in the world! And what a sight it was. Only completed in 2013, it was a true feat of engineering. There was a lift all the way to the top and we had the choice of a helter skelter down, which had you been able to see out we both would have done, but alas it was more like a giant drain pipe, ...
