    ... As we returned to the campground, we passed a strange set of what could only be described a "spectator stands" on the side of the lake. After hanging out for a few minutes, we realized that these were, in fact, "stands" for rowing races.     ... to purchase tickets to get into the Gorge, but it was well worth it! The entire trail is either very well-maintained boardwalks or maintained trails, taking you deep into the gorge for picturesque, clear, pristine river/stream and its equally as stunning sheer walls and cliffs!

    The hike takes about 1.5 hours round trip and the pictures speak for themselves! It was a fantastic side trip as we made our way to Lake Bled!

    ... with my Slovenian Lasko beer, at the end of a long touring day. Apart from having a sloping coastline, the tiny streets in Piran reminded me of Venice. It seems that many artists make their home here, given the numbers of small galleries. My favourite was the artist Marko Jezernik - an economist who left his inland degree for an artist life on the coast, opening his shop as he feels like it....a nonconformist approach to life.
